Professor Martin Morachimo is the Head Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor at Phenom BJJ in Orange County. He has a vast array of accomplishments with respect to the Art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
He began his BJJ journey under Roger Machado one of the five world famous Machado Brothers in December of 2000 and after eight years he decided he wanted to play an even larger role in the sport. This brought him to the doorstep of a world class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu player who holds multiple international and world championships. His name is Romulo Barral. The last four years under the tutelage of Professor Romulo has been a time for him to sharpen his technical BJJ skills having competed as a brown belt and winning 2011Pan American Jiu Jitsu Championships. This was also his preparation as a black belt instructor. After receiving his blackbelt from Professor Romulo he dedicated himself to teaching BJJ full time and is the former head instructor of Gracie Barra Santa Ana where he taught for 3 years.
Professor Martin has a unique view of BJJ. He believes Jiu Jitsu is for everybody from a professional athlete, to a retiree, to a elementary school child looking for discipline and a sense of unity. He believes this sport provides a person with the ability to focus on their mind and body as well as provide stress relief for the time you spend at the academy. It is important to understand that the game of Jiu Jitsu often reflects the game of life and that we must learn to be comfortably -uncomfortable because regardless of the circumstance there is always a possibility to overcome it and rise up one more time.
We hope you can join us in building a team for us all to be proud of. I am very happy and proud to join such a great and growing BJJ family as it is Phenom.
